Denver's cooling season is shorter than in many cities, but it is intense: bright high-altitude sun, dry heat that climbs into the 90s, and west-facing rooms that bake every afternoon. Besties HVAC Solutions designs and installs central air conditioning that keeps every room comfortable without oversizing, noise or wasted energy.

Whether you are replacing an aging condenser, converting from a swamp cooler or adding air to a home that never had it, every project starts with a free in-home estimate and a written proposal.

Designed for Denver's dry heat

In humid climates, a large share of an air conditioner's work goes into removing moisture. In Denver the air is already dry, so most of the load is sensible heat, and the right equipment and airflow settings look different. We calculate the cooling load room by room, then check that your ducts and returns can move the air the system needs. Undersized returns are the most common reason a new AC underperforms in older Denver homes.

Swamp cooler to central air conversions

Many older Denver homes still rely on evaporative coolers. Converting to refrigerated air means removing the cooler, sealing and repairing the roof opening, and designing supply and return ducts for the new system, often alongside a new furnace or heat pump. The result is consistent cooling on the hottest days, no seasonal startup and shutdown, and no roof-mounted water connection to winterize.

Efficiency, noise and hail protection

Air conditioners are now rated in SEER2. Higher-efficiency two-stage and variable-speed units run longer at lower speed, which means quieter operation, more even temperatures and lower bills. On tight urban lots and near bedrooms, we choose quieter condensers and place them thoughtfully. Because Front Range hail is a fact of life, we can add hail guards and set the unit on a proper pad with good clearances.

One more option worth a look: a heat pump costs modestly more than a standard AC, cools the same way, and can also handle much of your heating. Qualifying installations may be eligible for combined Xcel Energy and Colorado incentives of up to $12,250 for qualifying households. Our heat pump page explains the tradeoffs.

What the install includes

A typical AC replacement takes one day. We recover refrigerant properly, remove and haul away old equipment, install a matched condenser and indoor coil, replace or flush line sets as required, pull permits where needed, pressure test and evacuate the system, and commission it with measured refrigerant charge and airflow. We finish with a walk-through and warranty registration.

Fixing the rooms that never cool

New equipment alone will not fix an upstairs bedroom that runs five degrees warmer than the rest of the house. That usually comes down to ductwork, return air and zoning. Depending on the home, we may add or enlarge returns, rebalance supply runs, install a zoning system with motorized dampers and separate thermostats, or add a ductless head to a stubborn bonus room or finished attic. Large homes with several levels or wings are often best served by two systems rather than one oversized unit. We will show you which approach fits your floor plan and why, before you buy anything.

Good to know

AC installation questions, answered.

How much does central AC installation cost in Denver?+
Most installs fall between about $6,000 and $14,000, and first-time systems that need new ductwork run higher. That is a typical range, and your exact price comes in writing after a free estimate.
How long does AC installation take?+
A straightforward replacement usually takes one day. Swamp cooler conversions and new duct systems typically take two to three days.
What size air conditioner do I need?+
We calculate it room by room. Oversized units cool quickly but cycle on and off, leaving uneven temperatures. Correct sizing plus good airflow is what makes a home comfortable.
Should I get a heat pump instead of an AC?+
Often it is worth comparing. A heat pump cools exactly like an AC and can also heat your home, and qualifying systems may be eligible for Xcel Energy and Colorado incentives. We price both so you can choose.
Can you add central air to a home with a swamp cooler?+
Yes. We remove the cooler, seal the roof and design ducts and returns for refrigerated air.
Do you install hail guards?+
Yes. Hail guards protect the condenser coil from direct impact while allowing airflow, and they are a sensible upgrade across the Front Range.
